Eccentrics Team Style Meet Donna Glodjo. Fashion tips for retired women over 50.

"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle; keep an attitude of gratitude regardless of your circumstances; and “walk humbly with your God” (Micah 6:8)."

How does your job influence your personal style?
I had kind of been in “survival mode” for the past couple of years with fashion and stylishness way down on my list of priorities.  Coming to work at Eccentrics, surrounded by these gorgeous ladies and beautiful clothes, has renewed my desire to look my best and update my wardrobe!  A shout out to all the lovely senior ladies out there who, like me, thought Eccentrics was only for the young – there are treasures on our racks for you that are age appropriate, trendy & fabulous!!

What is your personal style?
My style is mostly classic – Basic pieces in neutral tones with just a touch of trendiness and color.  In my casual moments, I am a little Boho. Love denim, long tops and sweaters, ponchos, and maybe a touch of suede or fringe on jackets and accessories.

Go-to fashion rule or styling trick?
Age appropriateness, comfort, and flattering fit.

Most challenging part of your job?
Nothing comes to mind.

What’s in your eccentricsboutique.com shopping cart?
I am in love with the new Barefoot Dreams pieces and think I feel an addiction to Kendra Scott jewelry coming on!

One thing in your closet you could not live without?
Comfortable, slimming jeans.

What is your life motto?
Three things come to mind that I try to live by:  Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle; keep an attitude of gratitude regardless of your circumstances; and “walk humbly with your God” (Micah 6:8).

How does your motto affect your style?
I believe our personal style is an outer reflection of what is inside our hearts and minds.  I hope my style projects light, kindness, and God’s love.

Do you have a beauty secret you wish to share?
No secrets.  One of my favorite indulgences is Guerlain’s Meteorites powder pearls as a finishing touch to makeup.

What is one thing no one would believe to be true about you?
Maybe that I still fight shyness.  I was really shy as a child, but overcame it for the most part.  However, having to enter a group of people I don’t know very well to socialize and make small talk still strikes fear in my heart.

How would you describe yourself in three sentences?
I am an imperfect but forgiven child of God.  I deeply love and treasure my family and friends.  I love music, road trips, being in nature, books, movies, decorating, Christmas, learning, early summer mornings on the porch, and winter nights by the fireplace.
