What was your career before retirement?
I was a college business professor specialized in office technology and healthcare—the business end of healthcare. I taught Medical Terminology, Medical Coding, and Medical Transcription. I loved, loved my career!
How has your career shaped who you are today?
I am still work and career oriented. I believe there is innate value in using work to help contribute to society.
How has being retired changed your approach to life?
I am more relaxed, healthier, and giving back to my community.

Does fashion play a big role in your life?
Maybe not fashion but good appearance and image. Good taste (in clothing) opens all doors.
What is your favorite fashion trend right now?
Off the shoulder, looser tops, natural fibers.
Do you have a favorite outfit that you modeled at Eccentrics?
The winter-white, boat-neck sweater and black stove-pipe pants.
How would you define your personal style?
As I’m aging, my style is more age-appropriate, yet a bit trendy. Dresses, dresses, always dresses.

Sunscreen, fitness (including rest, exercise, and nutrition), and a positive attitude.
What is your life motto?
“Have to have it to give it, have to give it to get it."
Be kind, kindness always trumps other behaviors. You never know what burdens others carry with them.
Want do you do for fun?
Spend time with family and friends. travel, and eat at good restaurants. Oh, and did I mention shopping!

What does a typical day look like for you?
Work out, gardening or housework. I also love to do office work.

Morning prayers, thankful for another day to improve, gratitude.

What advice do you have for women who are trying to make their mark on the world?
It doesn’t matter what you do, just do it well with passion.
How would you describe yourself?
I am a confident woman, a child of God, and a mother who loves her family more than anything.
What is one thing no one would believe to be true about you?
I was raised on a southern Illinois farm. I know how to gather eggs and make homemade butter!
